Plaque Engraved with the Royal Initials

Plaque Engraved with the Royal Initials

A copper plaque engraved with the royal initials has been dedicated to honor the legacy of the revered royal figure. This plaque is a symbol of respect and remembrance, etched with care to commemorate and preserve the noble contributions associated with the royal initials. It serves as a historical artifact, fostering a connection to the heritage and values of the revered individual it represents.

Inside the Copper Plaque

Inside the copper plaque is the following inscription “By His Majesty’s gracious favor, the name ‘Ramathibodi’ was bestowed in 1965 (B.E. 2508). His Majesty presided over the foundation stone-laying ceremony for this building on Thursday, December 30, 1965, at 10:52 AM, and returned to inaugurate the building on Saturday, May 3, 1969, at 3:00 PM. The Royal Decree establishing the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, was promulgated on July 27, 1965, in the 20th year of the current reign.”

This plaque honors the royal contribution and significant milestones in the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital.

Preserved for the Ramathibodi Community

In October 2014, the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital undertook renovations within the main building (Building 1). During this time, the copper plaque was relocated to the Dean’s Office on the M2 floor of the Central Lecture Hall building. This relocation was made to preserve and protect the plaque, allowing the entire Ramathibodi community to appreciate it as a lasting piece of history.
