The “Chakri Naruebodindra Inspiration” Wisdom Museum

The "Chakri Naruebodindra Inspiration" Wisdom Museum

To honor and commemorate the benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, as well as the past monarchs of the Chakri Dynasty and the Royal Family, for their contributions to healthcare for the Thai people and the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital.

Conveyed through art and symbolic media

The concept for the museum was inspired by the benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, King Rama IX of the Chakri Dynasty, who ruled the country based on the Ten Royal Virtues. His Majesty was known for his compassion, selflessness, and dedication, truly embodying the spirit of giving throughout his more than seven-decade reign.

The museum communicates and conveys these values through art and symbolic media, integrated with various narratives to foster “wisdom” and “inspiration.”

It aims to serve as a source of inspiration and a model for people from all walks of life to apply in their daily lives and work, ultimately benefiting both themselves and society as a whole.

Ramathibodi Foundation

Due to the increasing number of patients who lack financial resources for medical treatment, the support from the government has become insufficient to ensure timely and effective healthcare access for all. Meanwhile, many individuals wish to donate money to support various charitable projects.

Professor Dr. Aree Walyasewi, the first dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, along with the faculty’s administrative board, recognized the importance and the opportunity to provide medical care for those in need. As a result, they decided to establish a foundation to support the activities of the Faculty of Medicine, which was the first public hospital in Thailand, under the name “Ramathibodi Foundation” on May 12, 1969.

55 years of Ramathibodi Foundation Continuing the
"Bridge of Giving" alongside the lives of Thai people.

"The word 'giving'... never ends."

As a central hub for fundraising, the foundation gathers donations from those with benevolent hearts and allocates them to support the development of medical services, helping patients to access high-quality care at all levels. The benefits created for society and the public have earned the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who has graciously accepted the Foundation under her royal patronage since October 1, 2008.

For over 55 years, the “Ramathibodi Foundation” has continued to serve as a “bridge of giving,” advancing public health, producing medical professionals, and working towards the goal of ensuring sustainable health for the Thai people, in line with the Foundation’s guiding principle: “Giving… never ends.”
